Rayven delivers finished dies with continuous technical support and maintenance guidance for mass production.
At Rayven, we combine engineering precision with cost efficiency to deliver reliable aluminum extrusion solutions for industrial clients worldwide.
The first dies process. Qualified forged steel blanks are cut to size per drawings. Flat end faces are strictly controlled with machining & heat treatment allowance reserved. Clean, mark and transfer blanks as standard base materials.
Clamp forged blanks on CNC machines to rough machine core spreader holes, bridges and feeding surfaces. Tight tolerances are maintained for position, flatness and concentricity. Optimize cutting parameters to reduce tool marks and reserve finishing allowance. Clean metal scraps and recheck dimensions to form regular basic flow channels for follow-up precision angle machining.
5-axis linkage equipment machines diversion bevels, outlet slopes and smooth transitional arcs in one clamping, which cannot be completed by 3-axis machines. The hydrodynamic design lowers aluminum flow resistance and balances material flow to avoid unbalanced wall thickness and profile distortion, improving forming stability and surface precision.
Machined dies carry internal residual stress and are quenched in nitrogen-filled vacuum furnaces. Vacuum and nitrogen protection prevent oxidation and decarburization. Temperature curves are customized to refine metal microstructure. Post-quench tempering balances hardness and toughness, releases stress, and enhances wear, heat and crack resistance to extend die service life.
Heat-treated dies gain high hardness, making standard milling infeasible. Low-speed wire EDM precisely machines lower die cavities, bearing surfaces, outlets and fitting slots. Numerical control discharge cutting delivers smooth surfaces, accurate dimensions and fitting clearances without deformation, ensuring high matching precision between upper and lower dies for precision aluminum profiles.
EDM is used for precision trimming of hard-to-reach narrow corners, tiny special arcs and defects on bearing surfaces that cannot be processed by milling or wire cut. Pulse discharge removes metal without mechanical pressure to avoid chipping and deformation. It eliminates tool marks and burrs, improves cavity smoothness, ensures smooth aluminum flow and consistent surface quality of extruded profiles.
